Code Immersion is a personalized code immersion program for people that identify as women in New York City. It was founded in 2017 by the team behind The Coding Space, an after school program for kids in Manhattan.
Nicole Kelner - Nicole developed a passion for empowering young women to be leaders in the world of STEAM after her first company SmartPurse was acquired by BetaBrand. She was the winner of the Alibaba Women Empowerment Award, a finalist for Shark Tank, and a writer for The Huffington Post. She started the GirlCode Program within The Coding Space to empower ambitious, change-making young ladies to learn, create, and code. In her free time, she leads Lemonaid, a community for women focused on mental health & human rights.
Eli Kariv - Eli fell in love with technology when he started his own web development company, CrossedClouds, in college. Eli was president of Innoblue, the community for entrepreneurs at Penn State, and spread his passion for technology and startups with 4,000 of his classmates through hackathons, workshops and dozens of educational events. Eli was a part of the user acquisition team at Mozilla Firefox in San Francisco, and worked at Remind.com.
Steve Krouse - Steve builds tools and environments to making programming more intuitive, including coding.space, WoofJS, and Rose. He's passionate about web technologies, functional programming, and potatoes with hot sauce. Steve studied Computer Science at Penn, worked at First Round Capital, and Looker.
